CLEVELAND HEIGHTS DETAILS NEXT STEPS FOR TRANSFORMATIVE
TOP OF THE HILL DEVELOPMENT
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH, 06/11/2019 - The City of Cleveland Heights continues to take steps towards the redevelopment of the Top of the Hill site, located at the top of Cedar Hill. As a highly visible property at the gateway between the Heights and University Circle, developing this property has been a long-time goal of the City. The design of the project has been a focus of numerous stakeholder meetings during the first half of 2019.
As a result, the City invites citizens to the Cleveland Heights Community Center, 1 Monticello Boulevard, for two important design-related meetings on the Top of the Hill Redevelopment Project:
On Tuesday, June 25, at 7:00 pm, Top of the Hill developer, Flaherty & Collins, will present the design for the project to the general public. These design drawings, which are currently being finalized, will be available on June 21 on the City’s website at www.clevelandheights.com/toh, at City Hall, and at the Noble, Coventry and Lee Road libraries in Cleveland Heights.
In addition, Flaherty & Collins intends to request review approval from the City’s Architectural Board of Review (ABR) at a public meeting, also to be held at the Community Center, on Tuesday, July 9, at 7:00 pm.
The City of Cleveland Heights encourages its residents and business owners to share design-related comments by email to rwong@clvhts.com no later than July 2 so that they can be forwarded to the ABR in advance of the July 9 meeting. Comments may also be made at either public meeting.
This estimated $84 million project is anticipated to consist of approximately 275 to 300 market-rate luxury apartments, up to 15,000 square feet of new first-floor commercial space, approximately 25,000 square feet of green space, and a structured parking garage containing 550 parking spaces, as well as additional surface parking throughout the development site. The Top of the Hill site is located within easy walking distance to businesses in one of the City’s most popular and vibrant commercial districts - the Cedar Fairmount District. Construction of the project is slated to commence during the 4th Quarter of 2019 with completion anticipated during the 1st Quarter of 2021.
