Cleveland Heights Announces New Member to City Council

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH, 04/02/2019 -  Mayor Carol Roe, on behalf of City Council, announced today the selection of Cleveland Heights resident Craig Cobb to fill the unexpired term of former Councilperson Cheryl Stephens.

’’This was a truly rewarding process with over 30 residents applying for the position, and each one bringing a variety of experiences and interests to the table.  We are thrilled to welcome Craig to the Council and believe he will be a great asset to us and to the City," said Roe. "Craig’s knowledge and experience with City government will be immediately capitalized on as we go forward with a number of important issues."

Mr. Cobb, a longtime resident of the City, currently serves as the Chair of the Planning Commission and had also served as a member of the recent Charter Review Commission. He is employed by Farmers Insurance Exchange where he is a Branch Legal Office Managing Attorney.

In accepting the position, Cobb said "I am proud and honored to have been selected to serve the community of Cleveland Heights, a city I love and have called home for many years."

All applications were posted on the City’s website along with a video interview conducted by the League of Women Voters. "The City Council was committed to doing its due diligence and in the end, it was Craig’s knowledge and experience with City government that directed our decision making. We welcome him aboard and look forward to his contribution," Roe said.

Craig Cobb will be sworn in as a member of Council on Monday, April 15th at the regularly scheduled Council meeting at 7:30 pm.
